    Summary
    The primary purpose is to sell the customer on General Steel.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Receive incoming calls inquiring about General Steel products and services;
    • Effectively and professionally convey accurate information about these products and services;
    • Identify and resolve client concerns;
    • Observe company standards for ethical selling;
    • Must be available for prompt, timely follow-up and response to customer needs, verbally and in writing;
    • Succeed in closing sales at a ratio acceptable to the company;
    • Must be available for a ten (10) hour time frame during hours of operation, which are 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience
    Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or, six months to one year related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Language Skills

    • No foreign language skills required.
    • Ability to interact with customers verbally and in writing at a professional level.

    Mathematical Skills
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

      Computer Skills

    • Basic computer skills are necessary;
    • Type information from conversations directly into software tracking programs.
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    None Required.

      Other Skills and Abilities

    • Must be able to multitask;
    • Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to persuade and influence others.

    Other Qualifications
    Technical sales training would be helpful
